Always a great place for the premieres of new and limited edition toys, figurines and memorabilia, this year’s Con was no disappointment. Here are some interesting new finds from this year’s NYCC…
“Faker” reissues available for the first time at the Mattel booth. Not this one but the toy-sized versions. When I was a kid, I begged my aunt to get me a He-Man, she got me a Faker. I tried to paint him into He-Man, now I just wish I had the original Faker.
Watchmen figurines inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. movie were available at the Show Store and several other locations on the floor.
Also at the Show Store… a life-sized “Bone” plush, if were to live, from the integral Jeff Smith series of the same name. With the Javitz gridding reflecting from above, it looked like he was in prison. I saw at least two people who had freed him.
Yes, this is a Bruce Campbell figurine prototype.
Pac Man plushies… finally. At the Namco booth, this ghost hobbles (rather than hovers) after you when you press on its head.
Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts figurines at the Square Enix booth.
From Watchmen, these guns given to Edward Blake AKA “The Comedian” by Richard Nixon for his service to the country were on display at the DC booth.
I was never a huge fan of the Playmates turtles but this statue… I need this statue.
PVC set of the gothic manga/anime classic, Vampire Hunter D… includes D, Doris and, of course, Dracula.
